California, USA, Regulates PFAS in Certain Food Packaging and Requires Information for Cookware

California has approved measures to regulate PFAS in food contact materials and articles derived from plant fibers as well as requiring information for cookware. The provisions in the new law will be implemented in phases, starting January 1, 2023.
Denmark Issues Legislation on Persistent Organic Pollutants

Denmark has repealed two pieces of national legislation on persistent organic pollutants (POPs). This will become effective on January 1, 2022.
France Updates Packaging Signage Requirements in Decree 2021-835

As part of its anti-wastage and circular economy law (AGEC Law), the French government has reformed the logos required on packaging and products to simplify sorting. Primary changes include the removal of the ‘Green Dot’ (‘Le Point Vert’) and the harmonization of the ‘Triman’ and ‘Sorting Info’ (‘Info-Tri’) (SafeGuardS 135/21). Decree 2021-835 was published on June 29, 2021.
Georgia Revises Technical Regulation on Toy Safety

Oregon, USA, Issues Temporary Administrative Order to Clarify Reporting Requirements for Children’s Products

The US state of Oregon has published a Temporary Administrative Order to revise its Toxic-Free Kids Act. This temporary rule is effective between August 26, 2021 and February 21, 2022.
